City Tax changes in Opera and Opera Cloud

This document explains the process required to change your OPERA PMS system to take into account new City Tax percentages.

CityTax in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Rotterdam etc. is calculated as a percentage of the net room revenue.

Unfortunately it is not possible to do the inclusive calculation in a package. In order to calculate CityTax inclusive, a generate (like VAT) is used. CityTax can be set up as an exclusive package and/or may be linked as a generate to the room revenue transaction code. The setup of both situations will be discussed. Changes can be made once the End of Day routine is done.

The person carrying out this work on behalf of the hotel must have access to the configuration area of OPERA.
