SSLv3 Poodle Application vulnerability changes in Frankfurt DataCenter

In order to mitigate the recently publicized “Poodle” vulnerability (CVE-2014-3566), Frankfurt Datacenter will change the way how all users of the hosted applications connect to our Datacenter, by disabling the SSLv3 Protocol.

The changes will be minimal at client side, although we need to ensure that proper Internet Explorer settings will be in place before we start rolling the changes on our side.

We advise that all workstations connecting to any hosted MICROS application should have the below settings “ON” in Internet Explorer Settings > Advanced Tab > SSL and TLS Protocol used:

One any of the above options is set, workstations are able to communicate with the hosted application servers.

Therefore we would like to ask the SDM teams and local support offices to inform the customers on what needs to be done. Deadline to complete the above changes is the 8th December, on that day we will disable the SSLv3 protocol.

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,
